Notes on Ice is a documentary about the world’s only Ice Music Festival. The films follow the annual gathering of musicians and ice carvers, in the Norwegian mountains, where they create a truly unique event; all instruments are created from wild ice, cut from frozen lakes, and the stage and auditorium are sculpted from ice and snow. This is music that is truly created in the moment; a blend of sound and place, man and nature, which hangs briefly in the cold night air before melting away into the darkness…….
Official Finalist in the Banff Mountain Film Festival 2013, the Vancouver Mountain Film Festival 2014, the Dag Film Festival in Istanbul 2014, the Film Festival Flix Mountain and Adventure Film Festival 2015, and the Festival del Sole in Napa Valley in July 2015. The films has been sold to broadcasters in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Austria, New Zealand and Japan.
Notes on Ice was shot on a Red Epic in 4K and is available as an HD (1920 x 1080) or 4K (4096 x 2160) master, with stereo or Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound audio.
