Location filming in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
A documentary film for the Riyadh Development Authority
We’re back in Riyadh this week, working with the Riyadh Development Authority (ADA), documenting their Wadi Hanifa project. Wadi Hanifa is a river valley that skirts the edge of the city and has deep environmental, cultural and historic significance. The valley was the original centre of the city but become polluted and degraded during the oil boom. Over the past decade the ADA has been restoring the valley and today it is one of the longest urban parks in the world; a beautiful ribbon of greenery, peace and tranquility, that runs through the city. We produced a documentary about the initial phase of the project in 2007 and have now been invited back to film the latest developments in which the protected area extends to a new national park embracing a large area to the West of the city which includes a the vast escarpment shown above, known as ‘The Edge of the World’.
