Spring in Sudan
Media Production, Training & Filmmaking for Museums and Cultural Heritage
We’re just back from Khartoum, where we are starting work on a new project to refurbish three regional museums, working with Sudan’s Ministry of Culture, Kings College London and Mallinson Architects. The project is principally funded by the British Council’s Cultural Protection Fund. Our work will involve the development of film and photography programmes, through training and production, connecting with film and photography archives in Sudan and UK and collaborating with Sudanese filmmakers. US sanctions on Sudan have recently been lifted and the country is emerging from a period of isolation, having suffered from decades of conflict, with over 4 million people currently internally displaced. There’s a real need for international assistance and an enthusiasm to engage with history and culture. We’re very much looking forward to working with the Sudanese over the next 2 years.
